So I pulled an old Solstice Productions video out of the archive.

I always keep a smaller divx or xvid encode of dvds on hand on external hard disks. Easier if I still want to watch something without taking out the dvd. At the end of the Diamond DVD I had trouble getting it ripped right. Every so-and-so seconds the audio would glitch. Perhaps it’s the program I used, but I don’t understand since it did the rest correctly. Extra protection? Who knows. I just did it in a different way now, by using DVD2AVI with Decode/ Dolby Surround Downmix as explained in this guide.

Before that I installed graphedit again, registered a couple of filters. After that my mpg’s wouldn’t play anymore so I had to unregister all filters. >.< Thankfully I noticed it now instead of a week later because I wouldn’t be able to trace it back to the filter installation.

I geeked and I found it. The primary reason why I wasn’t able to get the audio stream was because DVD2AVI is no longer developed and pretty old. It’s successor is: dgmpgdec156. To make a long story short I managed to get an AAC file from the project save done on this tool based on the old DVD2AVI. AAC can be played by my winamp and thus it can be written to disk as WAV. Hence, I could encode the two together in virtualdub as usual. I will make an attempt to write this down at Solstice Productions tutorials.

I also found a good tip for mp4 conversion (freeware): mp4cam2avi.

I just realized, my Solstice Productions editing archive is prooffffff of my complete fangirlism of Yamapi. Um. Mildly embarrassed now. Though it’s slightly impressive~ The only exception is the Maou vid. I’m currently preparing to post to fan communities after having a bitch fight with Youtube. If it uploads at all, I wonder how long it will take for the fags to delete it. Edit: I FUCKING HATE YOUTUBE.

Meanwhile I go sob while not enough people pay attention to fanvideos because there’s too many untalented or lazy people making videos. “Oh great another fanvideo” /SKIP. Usually I’m on the low end, but boy did I really flip that knob this time!! I worked straight for 3-4 days finishing up this one with a small beach-break. It might be up to 20-25 hours I don’t know. Wasn’t even counting. I had so much giggles putting it together the clock was just showing figures I didn’t understand anymore.

I always try my videos on my mom. I know she’s not an objective judge, but at least I know where the gaps are when it comes to language! It ain’t perfect, but comes a loooooooong way.

Ah I know what you’re going to say: “Nobody will believe a chick made this video”. If I post this somewhere uncommon I’m sure someone is going to say: “Great video dude, but what’s with the gaylord on chapter 7?”.

I’ve done part of the intro and edited the soundtrack very roughly to get an idea on how long this video is going to be. Brace yourselves: over 5 minutes, nearly 6! Major challenge.

In any case, here’s the chapters from the storyboard:

For now it’s the only little secret I let out. There’s some extremely difficult things in there so it may be subject to change.

Edit: Now I’m almost at chapter 2, it’s incredibly hard to finish it because I just don’t have enough dribble scenes!!! I’ve made the JC Arcs play my kind of game now though. Bigger dicked, thou shallt not find it anywhere. From now on updates shall be found at Solstice Productions.

The more I’m thinking about editing on Buzzer Beat, the more rancid and crackhead the idea gets. So far I have managed to include an animal in the storyboard, some of the filthiest talk you’ve ever heard, normal fangirl perversion (because it’s always that way), Satan and Classical Music (which is always your cue to something “on drugs”).

At first I thought ‘let’s correct it to be funny‘, but down the road it just went completely and utterly evil \m/ and I think mildly very offensive. Noooooooo!!!! *slaps arm* I musn’t do this! Some of the stuff I just thought up is just wrong, and wouldn’t do the hard working cast and crew any good. >.< HELP ME. IT’S SO FUCKING TEMPTING.

It’s like I’m having split personalities right now.

If I can’t get it finished or when it fails I guess you’ll be in luck. But if I do finish it to my satisfaction, you have no idea how incredibly sorry I am for making something that ridiculous. You all wish you could read my mind right now, right?

As such I have no idea still how to combine the entire thing, they are just loose ends. The problem is how to make something that sequentially makes sense.

BTW, get me more basketball scenes.

Edit: okay, I got the storyboard in general written down. It actually might contain pieces of more than 10 songs and additional sound effects!!!!! Lord knows this will be challenge beyond proportions, so don’t expect anything done tomorrow. But I got it now! It’s at least clear in my head.

The amazing evilness, omg, I’m ashamed of myself. lol. If Yamapi ever gets to see it I so want to duck under the table, I am so sorry sweetpie. I can hope to God he has a good sense of humour.

Yes! I am behind I know. I just couldn’t get myself to watch it until now. Ever since someone linked me an interview where some comments of the director were translated I was like “Teeheehee, you’ve got to be kidding me.” I tried to look all over for it, so who ever it was that linked me that article poke me again because I lost it. I just remember frowning my eyebrows at the contents and that usually isn’t very good. Something along the line of “a casual summer drama, lighthearted and yada yada to put a smile on people’s faces”. What am I supposed to smile about? There’s no jokes in this drama. Characters only keep pissing me off because they’re unbelievable sheep. Director-san, I see sheep enough!

That headband was total lol. What a bummer, no bath scenes in this one.

I also just read the latest jweb, kind of reminds me of a commercial that was on when I was in Japan a few years ago. “Watashi wa hamba-gaaa”. *coughs* So pick me! My friend just couldn’t quit saying that for the entire trip. It didn’t even drive me nuts now I think about it. If anyone finds that commercial for me, please link me up. I haven’t been able to find it on Youtube. I may need it someday for the lolz.

Edit: Still no solid editing idea, but I have a skit?
I’ve been trying really hard to come up with an idea for an opv… but I can’t seem to find anything. The only thing that hit me today was to paste all Riko/Naoki scenes together under “This is the moment” from a well known folk singer here and then when they both back out, use a big scratch sound like a vynil record scratch. Those are components for real comedy, but it’s not a three minute filler. Maybe I can find ways to do several of these kinds of ideas and make it a total crackpot opv. That’s what I’ve been fearing, though. But maybe completely pulling it over the edge is just what it needs. It should be my strong point, turning something completely unfunny into something that is…

I’ve been trying to come up with a good idea for editing a Buzzer Beat OPV, since it’s pretty much a tradition for me to edit on everything P-cup ω stars in. I have the same thing with Buzzer Beat as I had with Code Blue. I’m completely blank for ideas. I thought I had one a while ago, but while I let it sink in I didn’t think it was such a great idea anymore. It always gets harder though, because I make it hard on myself. I don’t just “do something”, I need to feel like I’ve upped it ++. The idea always has to be solid, that the rest is blood sweat and tears is just perseverence. Both drama’s didn’t really hit something with me I’d like to express in some way, so at this point I’m doubting if there’s even a chance an idea will pop up in my head that’s solid enough. Difficult…

Somehow I already knew it was going to be it’s own joke. Let’s just give a hint: I’m going to combine ear bleeding metal with the most WRONG SONG from 90s dance ever imaginable on this video. So first, I’m going to make it look cool, then I’m just going to be like good ol’ Feles-kun ™ and finish it off funny. I’ll have to sit out a few more episodes to see if it gets me the footage that I need to give this puppy a turn for the ‘bigger dicked’  and ‘funny’. Will probably finish it up in my vacation ^^; This is why I only release once a year. It’s the only time I get spend time on it. Besides the liters of coffee gulped and the endless endless fidgeting at the end it’s worth it I think. XD.

I’ve made OPV out of every drama P-cup ω starred in (except code blue), so Buzzer Beat will be no different. The question is, now that I’ve seen one episode, what would it be suitable for? Somehow I want to take the story out of the story, if you know what I mean. Completely turn it until it’s something different. So the feeling after one episode is ‘all my geek will turn against it‘. The gut feeling that story is not going anywhere which I don’t like to confirm with a video. The question is how do I set it right in a way that I will like it. lol. The easy thing to do is just do an action vid and make everything “look cool”. Formula: Just add the testos of JC Arcs members in action, multiply by heavy metal, and you’re done. Though I’m still dying to do a video with some serious metal under it, I don’t want to make something so simple in storyline. I also sort of do not want to go comical with it because it would have the tendency to follow the storyline but then push it over it’s own edge (exaggeration). It’s a thing I’ve used before on my Maou video but only there I increased “the angst”.

Hmm, I’ll see if episode 2 spurs some more ideas.

I hated that RESCUE promotion video that much I decided I’d do a quick edit of that video. I edited out all the places where I thought the dancers were annoying and distracting and replaced the shit with the boys themselves. The reason why I hated it even more is because conceptually I like the video (dark, industrial). *cries* WeeeeeeeH! So here’s my answer to that.

I had to take out almost 50% of the video, so there’s no way I could have made something pretty out of this one unless I sat for days instead of hours (!). It’s still more watchable than the original hahaha. Disturbing. I noticed the PV had a lot of repetition scenes already… In any case, it’s interesting to see how much you remember of what you’ve seen 20 seconds ago if you casually watch this video haha.

My friend has been leaving me messages while one of us is offline. Yesterday she asked me ‘Hey, what was that song you did a video of Vampire Hunter D of?’. I said: ‘Nevermore, Dreaming Neon Black’. Then today there was an offline received message that contained a Youtube link. lol

I never bothered to look this video up for myself, but apparently it’s been on Youtube for a very long time. I tried to comment but Youtube gave me the finger after I gave it the finger a long time ago. haha. Payback, thought Youtube.

What I love that’s clearly visible through the comments, is that people discover both the music of Nevermore and the anime Vampire Hunter D. AMV and OPV editing really is something great.

This video made me become an even bigger Nevermore fan, and watch this movie. ^_^

Anyways, the full video can be downloaded from Megaupload. I’ve uploaded it, because of this entry. Even though it gets rave reviews I’m not particularly proud of this one. It was the very first I made with a very limited video editing tool. It has some timing mistakes and stuff I’d definitely want to do over, but I’ve retained something I did in this video in my current releases: trying to build a good concept. Getting gravity, and holding on to it. It makes me happy if people feel that even a little bit when they watch some of my work.

I’ve also reposted some of my UNFINISHED work… lol.
